Event Information:
Spring ephemerals – plants that bloom briefly in spring, before the trees leaf out, are one of southern Ontario’s loveliest features. We have relocated this outing to the Brant Tract in Bruce County for this year. The forest there is carpeted with a rich variety of these flowers in May and early June. Come join us and learn their names and some of their interesting characteristics. Then you will be able to find some of them in whatever patch of woodland you happen to hike through in spring.
We will car-pool to the Brant Tract for a 10am start from the parking lot. The Brant Tract is about a half-hour from Hanover. Details of our car-pooling location will be shared with those who register closer to the date. Sign up for the event online or email Nikki through saugeenfieldnaturalists@yahoo.ca. We will finalize plans in the days before the event with those who register.
