Saugeen Field Naturalists 40th AnniversarySaugeen Field Naturalists

It’s a special time in the history of our club!  Together we will share memories, celebrate milestones, and look to the future.  We have some special events in store, and hope that every club member can participate in some way, big or small, in the preparation and the celebration.

LET’S CELEBRATE!

•Banquet on Sept 21, 2015: special guests, displays, memories, speaker and door prizes.

•Recognition of members.

•Anniversary year special events:

oPlant a memorial tree at the Kinghurst Nature reserve,

oEstablish a Monarch Waystation, (as we learned about in the Feb. meeting),

oHost an auto tour for the public, featuring the natural jewels of Saugeen district.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

•Somewhere there are photo albums from the early years.  Can you help us find them?

•If you have photos of people and events from our history we would really appreciate it if you can loan them to us to be scanned into a computer.   Memorabilia for display at the banquet would also be wonderful to have on loan.

•For the auto tour we are looking for volunteers who are knowledgeable about the various great natural sites of the Saugeen area, so we can plan the map.  We will need some written information to distribute to visitors, as well as 2-3 volunteer ‘hosts’ for each site, to give an overview and answer questions.
