Caterpillar’s
Event Information:
All our routine indoor meetings are at the Grace United Church in Hanover and begin at 7:30 pm.
Everyone loves butterflies. And moths are starting to gain popularity as well. But these adult stages are just an endpoint of one of the most successful and important parts of the natural world: caterpillars. Join naturalist Chris Earley to learn about these incredible immature insects. Kids already love caterpillars…soon you will, too!
Chris Earley is the Interpretive Biologist and Education Coordinator at The Arboretum, University of Guelph where he links the public and the university community to nature. He is also an adjunct professor and teaches undergraduate and graduate students about the fauna of our local habitats. Chris leads trips for Quest Nature Tours and has enjoyed sharing the planet’s wildlife with others on all seven continents. He has written 15 adult and children’s nature books and field guides on topics such as warblers, bird feeding, Ontario’s nature hotspots, frogs, dragonflies and, of course, caterpillars.
