This outing always presents challenges: in 2022 snow squalls forced cancellation of the outing and in 2024 the winter raptors were absent from this whole area. This year there are early reports of some Snowy Owls and Rough-legged Hawks, and even a Northern Shrike or two. We will do our best to find some of these beautiful and impressive winter residents in the open lands north of Chesley and west to the Lake Huron shore.
