Event Information:
Spring ephemerals – plants that bloom briefly in spring, before the trees leaf out, are one of southern Ontario’s loveliest aspects. There is extensive mature hardwood forest to the west of Highway 6 north of Williamsford, and we are privileged to be able to explore some of this woodland on private property. The forest here is carpeted with a rich variety of these flowers in May and early June. Come join us and learn their names and some of their interesting characteristics. Then you will be able to find some of them in whatever patch of woodland you happen to hike through in spring.
Meet at the Williamsford community parking lot on McCullough Lake Road on Saturday morning at 10. We will car-pool from there. For more details register with Nikki or Angus or below.
