Event Information:
The day will start at 10:00 a.m. with a short visit to the Eco-Den, a shop carrying environmentally friendly products for the kitchen and bathroom. From beeswax food wraps made in Mt. Forest, to bamboo toothbrushes to environmentally friendly cosmetics, the Eco-Den has a wide variety. Afterwards we will drive to one or two (depending on time) local trails that run through woodlands and along the South Saugeen, and explore for interesting animals and plants. Please contact Nikki May via saugeenfieldnaturalists@yahoo.ca to register and for more information.
Work outings at Kinghurst Forest Nature Reserve Saugeen Nature as a club acts in a stewardship capacity for this marvelous nature reserve. That, however, requires actual work from time to time. This is your opportunity to come out to commence or renew your acquaintance with the nature reserve. We will spend an hour or two trimming trails, removing young scots pines, and other necessary chores. The dates are listed below, but register with one of the leaders to find out what the work will be on any given date.
On May 20 and 27, June 17 and 24, meet at the end of the reserve selected to be closer to the work of the evening. Meet at 6:00p.m. Register with Doug Lonsdale (519 379-1655 or doug.lonsdale@gmail.com) or Angus Inksetter (519 364-3331 or angus.inksetter@gmail.com). Wear good work boots, bring gloves and tools for the job, and maybe binoculars.
