Outing: Mother’s Day Wildflower Walk

May 14, 2017

Event Information:

Spring ephemerals – plants that bloom briefly in spring, before the trees leaf out, are one of southern Ontario’s loveliest aspects. The mature hardwood forest at the Kinghurst Nature Reserve is carpeted with a rich variety of these flowers in May and early June. Come join us and learn their names and some of their interesting characteristics. Then you will be able to find some of them in whatever patch of woodland you happen to hike through in spring.

Meet at the east parking lot for the Kinghurst Nature Reserve opposite Harrison Lake on Concession 4 WGR, at 10am on Sunday morning.

Register with Nikki May (519) 369-5121, or email saugeenfieldnaturalists@yahoo.ca.
